Remake Learning Days - Philly Region

Remake Learning Days (RLD) is an innovative learning festival for youth and families. It is a celebration of innovative experiences and opportunities for youth to develop their sense of creativity, perseverance and curiosity. Taking root in regions across the world, thousands of hands-on learning events are designed for kids of all ages at libraries, schools, tech centers, parks, museums, play spaces, community centers and more. ​

Remake Learning Days, launched in 2016, is an annual statewide festival offering hands-on learning experiences for families and youth, enhancing preparedness and as a mean to introduce resource within communities. It collaborates on initiatives like the Career Ready PA Backpack Challenge and state agency events, promoting employability skills, STEM learning, and career readiness under the PAsmart initiative, ensuring equitable access to free event  across Pennsylvania.

In 2026, for the first time, Philadelphia stood as its own Remake Learning Days region, with 181 free learning events across 37 days, led by 45 partners in 8 neighborhoods. Supported locally by the Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem, the festival invited families into libraries, parks, schools, museums, and community spaces for hands-on learning rooted in curiosity, creativity, and discovery.

RLD Philly May 1 to May 23, 2026

With 181 events across 37 days, the 2026 Philadelphia festival was the most expansive in the region’s history.  ​What made the festival especially meaningful was not just its scale, but its approach. RLD trusts communities to define what learning looks like in their own spaces. Caregivers were welcomed not only as supporters, but as learners too, reinforcing the idea that learning is not confined to classrooms or limited to children. Programming spanned STEM, arts, maker culture, outdoor learning, career readiness, and civic engagement — with something meaningful for every age group and every neighborhood.
